Children who have no parental care or whose families have no financial means to pay medical bills struggle with their health.
2Hands Foundation aspires to financially support kids and their families who are struggling to overcome health concerns and the costs involved. We also aim to support aftercare needs, such as treatments, rehabilitation and recreational activities. We raise and distribute funds so that more children can receive financial support to improve their health and quality of life.
We work towards the survival and wellbeing of the country’s most vulnerable children, while ensuring they obtain the knowledge and resources to keep themselves and their families healthy.
Also, most mental health issues begin in childhood. Talking about wellbeing early on can help us all cope better with life’s challenges.
We should all be talking more about how we’re feeling – not waiting until there’s a serious problem. But early intervention gives more families the confidence to care for their wellbeing and get help when they need it.
Our programs help equip young people and their parents with skills to cope with life. 5 in 10 children in the Uganda experience mental health problems.
Of those we aim to work with, 80% show an improvement in their mental health. This Program gets young people talking about mental wellbeing, it’s aimed at those who have or are at risk of developing mental health issues.
